Group reading and reading skills workshop under the initiative “Vachan Sankalp Maharashtracha” at Rashtrasant Tukadoji College
The Library Department is implementing the initiative ‘Vachan Sankalp Maharashtracha’ proposed by the Higher and Technical Education Department of the Government of Maharashtra. Under the same, the period from January 1 to January 15 has been declared as Reading Fortnight and various programs have been organized in the college. As part of the same initiative, group reading was conducted on January 1. Also, a book exhibition and workshop Reader-Writer Dialogue was held under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Ashwin Chandel. Guide-Writer Prof. Dr. Prafulla Bansod interacted with the students and explained how to read about language. Reading gives a new direction to life, teaches you to think, makes you introverted, and also makes you aware of what is right and wrong in life. There is a saying in our society that ‘If you read, you will be able to do it’. He explained that reading also improves your mental health. Rashtrasant Tukadoji College Principal Dr. Ashwin Chandel explained to the students how reading is important in our lives and how reading skills are important in our daily lives. The students read their favorite books in a group. The program was moderated by Librarian Dr. Shailesh Bhoyar, introductory speech by RASEO Officer Prof. Dr. Nitin Katrojwar and thanksgiving speech by Prof. Chavan. Teachers, non-teaching staff and students were present on this occasion.
