On 25th August 2025, a one-day health check-up camp was organized at Rashtrasant Tukadoji College, Chimur, run by the Gandhi Seva Shikshan Samiti, in collaboration with the Primary Health Center, Community Health Center, National Cadet Corps (NCC), and National Service Scheme (NSS). The main objective of this camp was to conduct health check-ups for college girl students and provide them guidance to maintain good health. The program was held under the guidance of the college’s Acting Principal and Captain Dr. Prafull Bansod.
Organization of the Program and Attendance: The camp was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Kartik Patil (Head, Department of Marathi), Dr. Jayshree Meshram, Dr. Mukul Kariye from the Community Health Center, Ms. Achal Hemane (Laboratory Assistant), Mr. Shubham Chaudhary, Mr. Dnyaneshwar Utane (Health Worker), Mrs. Geeta Wakde, and Mrs. Shila Gajbhiye (ASHA Workers). All of them contributed actively in the registration process, health check-ups, and ensuring the success of the camp.
Nature of Health Check-ups: Various health examinations of the girl students were carried out in the camp. These included blood pressure check-up, anemia (iron deficiency) detection, diabetes screening, and hemoglobin level testing. These tests provided significant insights into the health condition of the students, and medical advice was given wherever necessary. The entire examination process was conducted in an orderly and scientific manner.
Anchoring and Participation in the Program: The program was anchored by Prof. Dr. Praful Rajurwade, NSS Program Officer, who guided all the activities and provided valuable instructions to the participants. At the closing session of the camp, Dr. Rajeshwar Rahangdale delivered the vote of thanks to all dignitaries and participants. The NSS and NCC girl students participated enthusiastically and played a vital role in the success of the camp.
Importance and Outcomes of the Camp: The camp created awareness about health among girl students. Especially at a young age, health problems can be identified early and preventive measures can be taken. With the support of the Primary Health Center and Community Health Center, the students also received information about local healthcare facilities. This initiative encouraged the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among students.
Conclusion: The one-day health check-up camp organized at Rashtrasant Tukadoji College, Chimur concluded successfully. Along with promoting health awareness among students, the camp highlighted the college’s commitment to fulfilling its social and educational responsibilities. It is expected that such initiatives will continue in the future, enabling students to lead a healthier and more prosperous life.
