Establishment of Student Parliament under the Career Katta Initiative
On July 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM, on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, the Career Katta Student Parliament was inaugurated at Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur, under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Ashwin Chandel. In his address, he emphasized that Career Katta will enhance students’ intellectual abilities and develop a positive outlook toward employment. He shared inspiring examples and explained the importance of hard work in life, urging students to work constantly to achieve their goals.
Chief guest Prof. Ashutosh Popate, Head of the English Department, advised students to study comprehensively and improve communication skills to compete globally. He referred to Charles Darwin’s principle — only the strongest survive — stressing its relevance in today’s competitive world.
Vice Principal Dr. Prafull Bansod guided rural youth to gather information about competitive exams and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the need for consistency despite failure.
Dr. Rajeshwar Rahangdale, coordinator of the “Career Katta: Entrepreneurship at Your Doorstep” initiative, gave the introductory remarks and explained the purpose and importance of the initiative. He encouraged students to actively participate.
Prof. Pitambar Pise, co-coordinator of the initiative, hosted the event.
Dr. Uday Mendulkar, Director of Physical Education and Sports, delivered the vote of thanks.
During this program, the Career Katta Student Parliament was established. Student Ankita Dhangare, as the Student Chief Minister, administered the oath to participating students.
Attendees included Dr. Kartik Patil (Head, Marathi Dept.), Dr. Haresh Gajbhiye, Dr. Prafulla Rajurwade, Dr. Nitin Katrojwar, and Dr. Laxman Kamdi. The event received a very enthusiastic response from the students.
“Student Interaction Program” under Career Katta”
On July 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM, the Student Interaction Program under the Career Katta initiative was held at Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur.
Mr. Yashwant Shitole, President of the IT Support Center, guided the students and emphasized the proper use of mobile phones. He encouraged students to treat their available time as capital and use it wisely for their careers. He urged them to read e-books and daily newspapers via mobile phones and to benefit from entrepreneurship and competitive exam guidance under the Career Katta initiative.
Dr. Deepak Yawale, President of Gandhi Seva Education Society, chaired the program and highlighted how mobile phones can be a tool to build one’s career and understand science.
Principal Dr. Ashwin Chandel explained the importance of the Career Katta initiative and how various courses under it help in the holistic development of students.
Key guests included Prof. Vinayakrao Kapse (Secretary) and Prof. Marotrao Bhoyar (Treasurer).
Other attendees included Vice Principal Dr. Prafull Bansod, Dr. Kartik Patil (Head, Marathi Dept.), and Dr. Sayali Lakhe (Member, Career Katta Publication Committee).
The introduction was delivered by Dr. Rajeshwar Rahangdale, coordinator of the “Entrepreneurship at Your Doorstep” initiative, and the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Pitambar Pise, coordinator of Career Katta’s competitive exam guidance.
Students of the Career Katta department actively participated in the program.
