Full Proceedings___

A national seminar was organized on January 18, 2025, by the Department of Commerce and Economics at Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur, on the topic “National Education Policy – 2020: Opportunities and Challenges in Commerce and Economics Education and Research.” The proceedings of the seminar are as follows:

Inauguration Ceremony:

The seminar was inaugurated by economist Dr. Shrinivas Khandevale, who emphasized the importance of speeches by the revered Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj in Chimur’s revolution and discussed the objectives, significance, and implementation of NEP-2020.

Prof. M. G. Bhoyar, Treasurer, Gandhi Seva Education Society, Chimur, highlighted NEP-2020’s role in employment generation.

Keynote speaker Dr. H. A. Hudda, President of the Vidarbha Economics Council, discussed the difference between education and literacy and expressed views on changes in the educational system.

The welcome speech was given by Prof. Dr. Haresh Gajbhiye, Head of the Commerce Department, and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rajeshwar D. Rahangdale.

Other notable attendees included Prof. Vinayakrao Kapse, Secretary, Gandhi Seva Education Society, Chimur; Principal Dr. Ashwin M. Chandel, who explained the significance of the seminar; Dr. J. M. Kakde, Chairperson, Economics Board of Studies, Gondwana University, Gadchiroli; Prof. Dr. Ananta Deshmukh, Head of the Commerce Department, PGTD, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University; Dr. Madhukar Nakshine, Principal, Chintamani College, Pobhurna; Prof. Dr. Uttamchand Kamble, Head of Commerce Department, PGTD, Gondwana University; Vice Principal Dr. Prafull Bansod; as well as faculty members and postgraduate students from Commerce and Economics departments of various colleges.

First Session:

The first session focused on “Future Educational System” with an emphasis on Economics. Chairperson: Dr. J. M. Kakde. Keynote speaker: Dr. Shrinivas Khandevale, who provided insights on the future changes in the educational system and its impact on employment generation, productivity, and the rural economy. Dr. H. A. Hudda also attended. Session Director: Dr. Narendra Patil, Head, Economics Department, Anand Niketan College, Warora. Vote of thanks: Dr. Rajeshwar D. Rahangdale. Economics faculty and students from various colleges participated.

Second Session:

In the second session, Prof. Dr. Ananta Deshmukh spoke on “Developing Entrepreneurship Skills in Commerce and Management Students under NEP-2020.” Another keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Uttamchand Kamble, spoke on “Challenges and Opportunities in Implementing Multidisciplinary Learning in Commerce Education and Research under NEP-2020.” Introduction: Prof. Dr. Haresh Gajbhiye. Vote of thanks: Dr. Laxman Kamdi. Present were Prof. Nikhil Pise, Prof. Chaudhary, Prof. Ms. Bharde, Prof. Dadmal, and faculty and students from various Commerce departments.

Research Paper Presentation and Valedictory Session:

Research papers submitted for the seminar were published in “GENIUS,” an international multidisciplinary half-yearly research journal. Certificates were distributed to participating faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students during the valedictory ceremony chaired by Prof. Vinayakrao Kapse, Prof. M. G. Bhoyar, Principal Dr. Ashwini M. Chandel, Dr. J. M. Kakde, Dr. Shrinivas Khandevale, Dr. H. A. Hudda, and Dr. Uttamchand Kamble.

President of Gandhi Seva Education Society, Dr. Deepak Yawale, extended best wishes for the success of the seminar. The seminar was successfully conducted with the valuable cooperation of all teaching and non-teaching.
