Book exhibition ceremony on the occasion of Dr. S.R.Ranganathan Jayanti at Rashtrasant Tukadoji College, Chimur

The birth anniversary of Dr. Shiali Ramamrut Ranganathan, the father of library science, was celebrated as Librarian Day on 12 August 2025 at Rashtrasant Tukadoji College, Chimur, run by the local Gandhi Seva Shikshan Samiti. Dr. Shiali Ramamrut Ranganathan had a great love for education and reading. On this special day, various activities related to reading and a book exhibition ceremony were organized in the college and in order to motivate students to read, a book exhibition was organized in the college under the chairmanship of the Executive Principal of the college, Dr. Prafulla Bansod. On this occasion, the Head of the Marathi Department of the college, Prof. Dr. Kartik Patil, Head of the Commerce Department, Dr. Haresh Gajbhiye, Dr. Pitambar Pise, Dr. Katrojwar, Dr. Laxman Kamadi, Dr. Uday Medulkar, Prof. Roshan Kumre, Prof. Nikhil Pise, Prof. Chetan Chaudhary, were present.

On the occasion of this program, the Executive Principal of the college, Dr. Prafulla Bansod, highlighted the purpose of the book exhibition. On the occasion of the book exhibition, an exhibition of various books such as Dr. Shiyali Ramamrut Ranganathan’s biography and other books based on his life as well as competitive exam guidance, net, set, rare and historical books, stories, novels, reference books was organized for the students of the college. The librarian of the college, Dr. Shailesh Bhoyar, introduced the program. To make the book exhibition a success, library assistants Pankaj Shirbhayye and Pranjali Narule as well as teachers, non-teaching staff and students participated. .
