Book Exhibition and Reading Program on the Occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti

On the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, a book exhibition was inaugurated on 14th April 2025 at Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Yawale, President of the Gandhi Seva Shikshan Samiti.

Present at the inauguration were the college’s Acting Principal Lt. Dr. Prafulla Bansod, keynote speaker Dr. Pithale, Head of the Marathi Department and senior professor Dr. Kartik Patil, and Head of the Commerce Department Dr. Haresh Gajbhiye. The event was organized and introduced by Librarian Dr. Shailesh Bhoyar.

On this occasion, students in the library selected and read books authored by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar that were displayed during the exhibition.

Lt. Dr. Prafulla Bansod, the Acting Principal of the college, informed the students about the Indian Constitution authored by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He emphasized the significant constitutional provisions related to all religions that Dr. Ambedkar had included, drawing the students’ attention to these important aspects.

Keynote speaker Dr. Pithale, while addressing the students, shed light on the concepts of justice, equality, and fraternity, and explained the idea of social justice. He clarified the difference between justice and social justice and helped students understand when true social justice is achieved.

In his presidential address, Dr. Deepak Yawale, President of the Gandhi Seva Shikshan Samiti, spoke to the students about the struggles Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar undertook for society. He elaborated on the various contributions Dr. Ambedkar made for social upliftment.

The event was attended by the college’s teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and students. The vote of thanks was delivered by Library Assistant Mr. Pankaj Shirbhaiyye.
