1. Introduction

​On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, a special program and collective oath-taking ceremony were organized under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” on October 2, 2026, by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur. The primary objective of this event was to create awareness about addiction recovery among the youth and to foster a substance-free society.

2. Commencement of the Event

​The program commenced with the traditional worship and garlanding of the portraits of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj. The NSS volunteers rendered a welcome song. 3. Guidance by the Keynote Speaker

​Dr. Sheel from Gramgeeta College, Chimur, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker. In his insightful and enlightening address, he highlighted the following key points:

​Adverse Effects of Addiction: He provided detailed information on the physical, mental, and financial damage caused by substance abuse.

​Role of Youth: Emphasizing that the younger generation is the future of the nation, he urged them to resist temptations and adopt a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle.

​Teachings of Rashtrasant: Referencing the values from Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj’s Gramgeeta, he called upon everyone to take the initiative in creating addiction-free villages and communities.

4. Collective Oath-Taking Ceremony

​Following the keynote address, all students, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and non-teaching staff solemnly recited the “Anti-Addiction Pledge”:

​”I pledge that I will personally refrain from any form of addiction, constantly strive to keep my family and society drug-free, and actively contribute toward building a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Substance-Free India).”

5. Conclusion and Vote of Thanks

​Towards the conclusion of the event, the NSS unit extended a vote of thanks to the distinguished speaker, faculty members, staff, and participating students. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
