Event Objectives___

  1. The primary objective of this camp was to promote blood donation to meet the societal need for blood and to in still a sense of social responsibility among students.
  2. To increase the blood stock in the hospital, ensure blood availability for emergencies, and raise awareness among youth about the benefits of blood donation.
  3. To involve students in service-oriented activities through NSS and NCC, thereby developing leadership qualities and teamwork.
  4. To take a step towards providing health services to the local community in collaboration with Rotary Club.

Blood Donation Camp Report

Introduction:

A blood donation camp was organized on December 8, 2025, at the Sub-District Government Hospital, Chimur, jointly by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) units of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Mahavidyalaya, Chimur, in collaboration with Rotary Club Chimur. Students from the college’s NSS and NCC units, as well as professors, actively participated in the blood donation camp. The following report details the objectives, methodology, importance, and outcomes of this camp.

 

Objective:

  1. The primary objective of this camp was to promote blood donation to meet the societal need for blood and to in still a sense of social responsibility among students.
  2. To increase the blood stock in the hospital, ensure blood availability for emergencies, and raise awareness among youth about the benefits of blood donation.
  3. To involve students in service-oriented activities through NSS and NCC, thereby developing leadership qualities and teamwork.
  4. To take a step towards providing health services to the local community in collaboration with Rotary Club.

 

Methodology:

  1. Planning and Preparation: For organizing the camp, the college’s NSS and NCC departments held meetings with Rotary Club Chimur. Coordination was established with the local hospital to finalize the date of December 8, 2025. An awareness campaign about blood donation was conducted among students, including posters, lectures, and promotion through social media.
  2. Camp Structure: The camp started at 9 AM and continued until 4 PM. The medical team from the hospital screened donors, which included checks for blood pressure, hemoglobin and health history. Blood was collected from eligible donors.
  3. Participation: NSS and NCC students from the college, along with professors, actively participated. Volunteers managed registration, guidance, and refreshment arrangements. Rotary Club provided necessary materials and venue arrangements.
  4. Safety Measures: All procedures were conducted following COVID-19 protocols, including masks, sanitizers, and social distancing. Care was taken to use disposable needles and equipment for blood collection.

 

Importance:

  1. Health and Social Service: Blood donation is a life-saving activity essential for accidents, surgeries, and patients with illnesses. This camp contributed to community health services by increasing the blood stock in the local hospital.
  2. Educational Value: For NSS and NCC students, this camp served as practical education, where they learned social responsibility, empathy, and service orientation. The participation of professors inspired the students.

  2. Participation Numbers: More than 40 NSS and NCC students from the college, along with 10 professors, donated blood. Over 70 people participated in the camp in total.
  3. Impact: The camp helped develop a habit of blood donation among students, who pledged to remain active in such initiatives in the future. Rotary Club appreciated the collaboration and planned for future camps.
  4. Recommendations: In the future, greater publicity should be given to such camps to increase participation. Other local institutions should be involved to expand the impact. The success of the camp enhanced the college’s social image.
