International Yoga Day Celebration Report

 

The International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 21st June 2025 at Rashtrasant Tukdoji College, Chimur, run by Gandhi Seva Shikshan Samiti. The event was jointly organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), and the Department of Sports and Physical Education.

The program was presided over by Acting Principal and Captain Dr. Prafull Bansod. In his speech, he provided detailed guidance on the science of yoga, its benefits for mental and physical health, and its significance in students’ lives.

Special guidance on yoga was provided by Mrs. Shakti Bangare, Prof. Narendra Vikhar from Bhivaji Warbhe Junior College, and Shri Sai Yogabhyas Mandal, Chimur. They gave hands-on training in various yogasanas, pranayama, meditation, and Surya Namaskar. They emphasized how yoga can help in managing various ailments effectively.

The program was anchored by Dr. Prafulla Rajurwade, NSS Program Officer, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Uday Mendulkar, Director of Sports and Physical Education.

The camp witnessed the active participation of college faculty, non-teaching staff, NSS and NCC volunteers, and students from the Department of Physical Education. All participants took part in the group yoga session to mark the celebration of International Yoga Day.

The event concluded with the slogan, “Yoga is the ultimate key to good health.”

The success of the program was due to the dedicated efforts of NSS Program Officer Dr. Rajeshwar Rahangdale, Dr. Laxman Kamdi, and Junior College NSS Coordinator Prof. Gajanan Chavan.
